A.Virtual counselling is counselling treatment provided through a video (and sometimes phone) conference. Of course, that means client and counsellor won’t be in the same physical space but connecting over a virtual line.
B.There are no differences in effectiveness between virtual vs in-person counselling. Some benefits of virtual counselling are that it can provide services to a larger number of people, with individuals not having to only access services provided in one’s community or region. Virtual sessions also allows those who have busy schedules, accessibility concerns, and health challenges to access treatment with a practitioner who is the right fit.
C. Al in-person treatment and approaches can be provided virtually, including EMDR!
A. Virtual sessions are a great opportunity to have sessions anywhere that feels comfortable for you. You can do sessions at home, in the car, or even a secluded area in a park. For confidentiality, it’s important to make sure you are not in the presence of others, ideally separated by a room and door. However, pets are welcome to all sessions!
A. The free consultation is an opportunity to meet with your counsellor, share a bit about what brings you in, and the counsellor will be able to give you a brief idea of how they can help you – particularly what treatment they can offer and approach they might take. During this consultation, you can ask any questions you might have about counselling, treatment, or the counsellor. It is important that you have the opportunity to see if you might be interested in the type of treatment the counsellor can provide you and see if the counsellor is a good fit for you!
B. What the free consultation is not is an actual counselling session. What this means is the counsellor will not be able to provide you tools or treatment to help manage your situation at this time. The short period of time does not offer the counsellor sufficient time to understand your issues or provide a detailed enough explanation of any skills or techniques you might benefit from. However, if you think they’re a good fit, go ahead and schedule in for a full session and they can start providing you the treatment!
We offer services as registered clinical Counsellors (RCC). Many insurance companies do cover our services. Please inquire with your particular insurance company to ensure they cover RCC services.
We offer direct billing to ICBC and CVAP. We also offer direct billing to many insurance companies. Please inquire about your specific insurance company during the free consultation and we can let you know if we are able to direct bill to them. In the case that we do not direct bill to your insurance company, we do issue receipts for all appointments paid by the client directly to their email on file. You can use that receipt to submit the claim with your respective insurance company.
We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you need to make changes to your appointment, you can do so by logging onto your Jane App account and rescheduling or cancelling your appointment. You can also send us an email at info@cascadecounselling.com letting us know you’d like to cancel your appointment.
Any cancellation or reschedule made less than 24-hours before the appointment will result in a cancellation fee. The cancellation fee will be equal to your session fee charged to your credit card on file.
When we book your appointment, we are holding a space for you on our calendar that is no longer available to our other clients seeking support. The cancellation policy allows us to provide our services to our clients in a timely manner.
